Boeing's Starliner spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) on Wednesday, and is on its way back to Earth.

Starliner undocked from the ISS at 2:36 p.m. Wednesday Eastern Time, about five days after being attached to the microgravity laboratory as part of its uncrewed mission, dubbed as Orbital Flight Test-2.

The spacecraft is scheduled to execute a deorbit burn at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday and land at White Sands Space Harbor in New Mexico at about 6:49 p.m., according to NASA.

The spacecraft was launched to the ISS from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida last Thursday.

The mission will provide valuable data toward NASA certifying Boeing's crew transportation system for regular flights with astronauts to and from the space station, said NASA.
