Myanmar military has filed charges against officials over a mining landslide in Kachin state, state-media quoted a release from the Military True News Information Team as saying on Tuesday.

The landslide occurred at a jade mining site in Sate Mu village tract of Hpakant township on July 2, leaving at least 174 deaths with 54 injured, latest figures from the Fire Services Department showed.

According to the press release, the authorities are continuing the search for people missing in the accident.

Myanmar military has already recalled a commander tasked with security affairs and the minister for security and border affairs of Kachin state to their military duties since July 3, the release said.

The Myanmar government has formed a six-member investigation body into the mining landslide.
