Enterprises in the jurisdiction of the Yuehai sub-district office in Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, have resumed operation as of Thursday.

The wakening of Yuehai's factories - home to the first high-tech industrial park in Chinese mainland - symbolizes the world's second-largest economy is gradually recovering from the impact of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Many enterprises utilize technology to protect their workers from the virus. Because it is hard to purchase temperature measuring equipment, enterprises in Yuehai updated intelligent thermometers. If a person's body temperature exceeds 37.3 C, the thermometer will turn on a red light immediately.

A distribution robot also is available to provide contactless delivery service for employees at work.

Yuehai covers an area of 20 square kilometers and accommodates 1,132 high-tech enterprises, including China's telecommunication giant Huawei and internet mammoth Tencent.

The enterprises mainly specialize in integrated circuit, biology technology, emerging green energy, emerging material technology and electronic information technology.
