Three patients infected with novel coronavirus in North China's Hebei province have recovered and were discharged from local hospitals on Sunday, the first discharged cases since the province reported confirmed cases on Jan 22, according to local media resource Hebei Daily.

The province had a total of 104 confirmed cases of people infected with the virus as of Saturday night, including one death and the three patients discharged, according to the Health Commission of Hebei province.

Two of those discharged are a 30-year-old mother and her 9-year-old son, who went back to their hometown in Baoding on Jan 19 from Wuhan, in Central China's Hubei province, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak, the report said.

They were confirmed as having been infected with the virus six days later. The symptoms of the viral pneumonia have disappeared and medical checks are back to normal.

The third person discharged is a 48-year-old man living in Langfang. He went to see doctors on Jan 24 when he started to suffer fever and coughs and the virus was confirmed two days later. He also has recovered from the disease.
