Bumper harvests of apples and cotton paint a picture of rural revitalization in Aksu(1/12)

As part of the “Understanding China: A Journey to Xinjiang — Narrating Aksu’s Sweet Story” International Media Event, reporters visited the orchard to learn about the development and operation of the local apple industry.

Aksu apples boast a sugar content of about 18 percent, far higher than that of ordinary apples, which average around 13 percent.

The orchard mainly cultivates the “Yanfu No.6” variety, creating over 20,000 seasonal jobs annually through pruning and harvesting.

As the “Understanding China: A Journey to Xinjiang — Narrating Aksu’s Sweet Story” International Media Event continued, reporters visited local fields to learn about the region’s highly mechanized cotton harvesting.

More than 95 percent of the cotton in the region is harvested by machinery, highlighting local advances in agricultural modernization.
