Peak tourist season has come half a month early for Hongcun village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The village in Huangshan, Anhui Province known for its historical architecture is welcoming increasing numbers of visitors this month, perhaps in response to a break in heavy, continual rainfall in South China.

The launch of the high-speed rail route linking Hangzhou, Zhejiang province capital, and the city of Huangshan at the end of last year has also contributed to the tourism boom, according to local officials and business representatives.
