There won't be a Thanksgiving Day parade, and the Black Friday sales are unlikely to happen. But if you are looking for a feast to celebrate the United States tradition, then you will not be disappointed – Shanghai never misses an excuse to celebrate.

We've have found out everything you need to know about the turkeys served up by some of the most prestigious restaurants and chefs in town.

What's good about it: Chefs at the hotel's 58 Grill have prepared a complete takeout menu for the Thanksgiving celebration. In addition to the black-and-white-meat and sage gravy turkey, there are also well-proportioned side dishes including caramelized Brussels sprouts, confit duck and chestnuts, grilled mushrooms, pumpkin pie and mascarpone with lime sorbet for dessert. Waldorf Astoria Shanghai

Weight: 8-10 kg

Price: 698 yuan plus 15 percent surcharge per adult, 348 yuan plus 15 percent surcharge per child.

What's good about it: The luxury hotel is not offering turkey takeout this year. But instead, a more "complete American traditional Thanksgiving experience" is provided on the night of the holiday in the hotel's marble-floored and oval-shaped dining space, Grand Brasserie. Aside from the signature roast turkey, a lavish buffet dinner is prepared and live Jazz band will entertain guests. Roasted with bountiful fruits and vegetables including apples, oranges, pumpkins, and chestnuts, the turkey features a sweet and savory flavor, likely to outshine some of the more luxurious offerings on the buffet menu like the Foie Gras and the freshly imported oysters.
