Huangyaguan Great Wall is located in Jixian County, Tianjin. Built on a mountain ridge with an average altitude of over 700 meters, the Huangyaguan Great Wall stretches 42 kilometers (26 miles) long with 66 watch towers. Huangya Pass is a fortress of the Huangyaguan Great Wall. Huangyaguan (means yellow cliff in Chinese) Pass is named after the yellow hills and rocks nearby. Originally built in the Northern Qi Dynasty (550 - 557), the Huangyaguan Great Wall has a history of over 1400 years. It was reinforced to a large extent with brick walls in the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). In 1986, the pass was listed as a key cultural relic site of Tianjin.

Huangyaguan Great Wall boasts amazing scenery. It jumps its way up and down along the ridge between cliffs and peaks. Amongst the mountain scenery, visitors could also enjoy the waterfalls and springs. There are various watch towers situated along the Huangyaguan Great Walls. By now, 20 water towers and a water pass of the 3025 meter - long Great Wall have been reconstructed. The largest tower is called Phoenix Tower while the most unique one is called Baguaguan Castle. Huangyaguan Great Wall has several features:

Solid: Huangyaguan Great Wall is really overwhelming. It winds its way across mountain peaks like a dragon. It has been the north entrance of Jixian County.

Dangerous: Huangyaguan Great Wall jumps its way up and down as a linkage between the cliff and crags. The steps are very high since the mountain is sloppy. In some sections, it looks like that the wall is running straight up or down. When you look down, you may feel afraid of the dizzy scene.

Except for the long history and magnificent scenery, Huangyaguan Great Wall is also known for Marathon. Starting form 1999, Huangyaguan Great Wall Marathon was held annually there. The Great Wall Marathon ingeniously combines marathon, a sport event with a long history and the ancient Great Wall, one of the world's most astonishing sights
