Repulse Bay featuring clean, cozy, and good public facilitated has become one of Hong Kong's most popular beaches. The bay is located on Hong Kong Island's southern coast.

Repulse Bay was a cozy harbor for small ships because it has a narrow inlet and surrounded by small islands. It is said that pirates based their boats in the bay until the British took control. In the later days, tall apartment buildings have been built along the beachfront, and the property values are said to be among the highest of Hong Kong. People began to be attracted to the bay which has the wonderful beach and sheltered by small mountains.

On the eastern side of the beach sits two large and colorful Taoist statues called Tin Hau and Kwun Yum. Some people believed that Kwun Yum was a real person who has been lived in China. Many Chinese especially fishermen worship these gods.

Repulse Bay is a free public beach. Lifeguards are on duty from March through November, and the facilities like the showers and bathrooms are well equipped for free public use. These all make the beach a pleasant place to go. The beach draws huge crowds when the weather is good during the hot summer months.

Nowadays, many visitors go to the beach and enjoy seeing the sun reflecting the glittering water and waves. The temperatures are perfect in the summer for basking in the sun and enjoying the cool water. People can walk to the nearby restaurants and get refreshments. There you can also find a mountain backdrop and expensive apartments near the beach. It is now regarded as a perfect place to do some sightseeing and swimming nearby the center of Hong Kong.
