China urges dialogue to ease Middle East tensions

(ECNS) -- China calls on relevant parties to resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation and work toward an early restoration of peace and tranquility in the Middle East, a foreign ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Guo Jiakun made the remarks at a regular press briefing when asked questions about Yemen's Houthi group claiming it had carried out strikes targeting Saudi Arabia's defence ministry and airports.

China opposes attacks on civilian facilities, including civil aviation airports, Guo said.
