People across the world celebrate Mid-Autumn together: Overseas influencers immerse themselves in traditional Chinese culture

(CNS Fushun) -- "How long will the full moon appear? Wine cup in hand, I ask the sky..." On Tuesday evening, overseas visitors from Russia, Germany, the United States, and other countries recited poetry and sang songs at the Tiannü Mountain Scenic Area in Fushun, Liaoning Province, immersing themselves in the charm of the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival amid the verdant hills and moonlight.

That day, the "Celebrating with Friends All Over the World" cultural experience event, themed "Mountains and Rivers Celebrate Together, the Vast Charm of Autumn," kicked off in Fushun.

The event was hosted by the Information Office of the Liaoning Provincial People's Government. More than ten overseas visitors took on the role of "Liaoning Mid-Autumn Culture Experience Ambassadors," exploring Liaoning from an overseas perspective and presenting the splendor of the Liaoning-Shenyang region to the world.

During the event, the overseas visitors toured the Lei Feng Memorial Hall to appreciate the enduring relevance of the Lei Feng spirit. They climbed the Tiannü Mountain, ablaze with autumn colors, and joined local farmers in making cornmeal cakes and stewing mountain delicacies, preparing a mountain-village reunion banquet in eastern Liaoning and experiencing the warmth of rural life in the province.

The group also visited the Daguanyao Ceramics Cultural and Creative Park, where they toured art exhibition halls and production workshops and experienced the intangible cultural heritage ceramic technique that uses local Fushun kaolin as raw material, witnessing the living transmission and innovative development of Liaoning's traditional culture.

As night deepened and moonlight bathed the mountains, the overseas visitors gathered around a campfire for the Mid-Autumn bonfire party. They assembled handheld Mid-Autumn lanterns, practiced Chinese calligraphy with brushes, enthusiastically guessed lantern riddles, roasted oranges and peanuts, and chatted by the fire, their laughter echoing across the hills. Through these rich folk experiences, they came to understand the core of Chinese Mid-Autumn culture: reunion and harmony.

Roger, an internet influencer from Russia, deeply missed his family back home. At the bonfire party, he felt especially warm. "The friends here made me feel the warmth of home. The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for family reunion. People from all over the world, though in different places, are like brothers and sisters, treating each other like family, with hearts connected-this is the vivid embodiment of 'one world, one heart,'" Roger said.

Zhang Xiao'ai from Ireland was full of curiosity about the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. "Ireland also has an August public holiday tradition for family gatherings, but the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival is closely tied to the bright moon and family reunion, with its own unique charm." During her visit to Fushun, Zhang said she not only gained a deeper understanding of Mid-Autumn folk culture but also learned about the Lei Feng spirit. She was deeply impressed by Fushun's rich historical heritage and delighted to take part in the event.

It is understood that the overseas visitors will subsequently travel to Liaoyang to explore the cultural heritage of the ancient city and experience the area's new industrial development.
