Nepali FM thanks China for disaster relief assistance

Nepal sincerely appreciates China's generous assistance at a time of crisis, Nepali Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal said Thursday during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming.

Khanal said Nepal and China share the natural ecosystem of the Himalayas and are both affected by climate change, adding that Nepal agrees with China that addressing climate change is a shared responsibility of the international community.

Nepal has no intention of separately seeking "climate justice compensation" from any specific country, including China, and will seek compensation from the international community under the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement, Khanal added.
