(ECNS) -- The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), together with 34 government departments and organizations, launched the 2026 National Science Popularization Month on Tuesday, kicking off a month of exhibitions, hands-on activities and public science programs across China.
The campaign, themed “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future,” features a wealth of activities at the National Communication Center for Science and Technology and the China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.
Attendees can immerse themselves in exhibitions covering brain science and other cutting-edge fields, participate in integrated science and sports activities, and engage in youth-focused programs centered on aerospace and science fiction.
As a key highlight of the event, the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy will be held in Beijing from September 19 to 21. The conference will officially announce the founding of the World Organization for Science Literacy.
China’s revised Science and Technology Popularization Law, which took effect in December 2024, designated September as the annual National Science Popularization Month. This year’s event is the second held under the revised law.
