(ECNS) -- The 23rd China-ASEAN Expo will take place from September 17 to 21 in Nanning, Southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Vice Minister of Commerce Yan Dong said on Tuesday.
It will focus on facilitating the construction of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area to promote high-quality regional economic growth, while highlighting new achievements in bilateral economic and trade cooperation, Yan told a press conference.
Bilateral trade between China and ASEAN surpassed $1 trillion for the first time in 2025, hitting $1.05 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.4 percent. China has remained ASEAN’s largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years, while ASEAN has served as China’s top trading partner for six straight years, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
From January to July this year, China-ASEAN trade volume reached $744.41 billion, up 24.7 percent year on year. The trade value accounted for 21.8 percent of China’s total foreign trade in the period, marking a continued rise in its share, Yan said.
