1.China-Russia air patrol shows capability to maintain peace, stability

The joint patrol by Chinese and Russian air forces showed their resolve and capability to address regional security challenges and safeguard peace and stability, a Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson said on Wednesday.

Responding to concerns raised by the Japanese side, Zhang Xiaogang, a spokesperson for China's Ministry of National Defense, said that Tuesday's joint strategic air patrol over the East China Sea and the western Pacific was the 10th such mission between the two militaries and was carried out under the annual cooperation plan.

2.International financial organizations raise China's 2025 growth forecasts

Several international financial organizations have raised their growth forecasts for China's 2025 economy in recent days.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF), expects China's GDP growth to reach 5% in 2025, up 0.2 percentage points from its World Economic Outlook released in October, said IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Beijing on Wednesday.

Similarly, the World Bank released its latest China Economic Update in Beijing on Thursday, raising its forecast for China's 2025 economic growth by 0.4 percentage points compared with its previous report.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) also lifted its projection for China's 2025 growth by 0.1 percentage points in its Asian Development Outlook 2025 published on Wednesday.

3.Japanese urge retraction by Takaichi

More than a dozen Japanese scholars, former government officials and lawyers Monday urged Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi to immediately retract her erroneous remarks on China's Taiwan region, warning that her statements have raised concerns about a possible resurgence of militarism.

4.Shenzhou XXI astronauts conduct first spacewalk, install debris shields

The Shenzhou XXI crew aboard China's Tiangong space station conducted their first spacewalk on Tuesday, according to the China Manned Space Agency.

Mission commander Senior Colonel Zhang Lu and spaceflight engineer Major Wu Fei returned to the Wentian science module at 6:45 pm after working for approximately eight hours outside the orbital outpost, the agency said.

5.Fire-hit homeowners to get HK$100,000 subsidy

Each homeowner of fire-hit Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po district of Hong Kong is set to receive a onetime subsidy of HK$100,000($12,851), as the support fund reaches HK$3.4 billion, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Warner Cheuk Wing-hing announced Wednesday.

6.China's defense ministry broadens outreach with new social media account

Having established itself as an influential voice on Chinese social media through timely information sharing, China's Ministry of National Defense is now reaching a global audience through a newly launched X account.

Debuting this week under the name "Ministry of National Defense of China," the account has posted images of China-Singapore joint military exercises and a video documenting the Chinese Navy hospital ship's medical mission in Jamaica. Within just a few days, these posts have drawn more than 4 million views.

7.China's ‘Jiutian’ large drone takes first flight, aims for versatile civil roles

A large unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), named "Jiutian," completed its maiden flight on Thursday, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The drone is 16.4 meters long with a wingspan of 25 meters. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 16 metric tons, a top carrying capacity of 6 tons, and a highest operational altitude of 15 kilometers. The jet can fly 12 hours or 7,000 km in a single sortie.

8.China wins third straight ITTF Mixed Team World Cup title

China beat Japan 8-1 to claim its third consecutive ITTF Mixed Team World Cup title in Chengdu on Sunday.

9.China launches sitellites for UAE, Egypt, Nepal

China launched the Lijian-1 -- also known as Kinetica-1 Y11 -- carrier rocket carrying nine satellites, including three international clients from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Egypt and Nepal from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone near the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China Thursday.

10.China, Philippines cooperate to repatriate Red Notice fugitive

China and the Philippines recently cooperated to repatriate an important fugitive on the Red Notice list under the framework of Interpol, according to the WeChat account of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines.

The fugitive surnamed Hao is suspected of duty-related crimes involving approximately 970 million yuan (about $137.30 million). The case marks another positive achievement in China–Philippines law enforcement cooperation.
