(ECNS) -- As of Monday midnight, at least 30 people had died due to heavy rains in Beijing, capital of China, according to the latest local official report.
Twenty-eight people died in Northeast Beijing's Miyun District and two in Yanqing District.
The average rainfall in Beijing reached 165.9 mm as of Monday, with Miyun District experiencing the heaviest rainfall at 543.4 mm.
The downpour also damaged 31 roads and caused power outages in 136 villages.
In response, Beijing has intensified its flood prevention and control efforts.
So far, 80,332 people have been relocated from Miyun, Huairou and Fangshan districts, while drones have been utilized to facilitate relief work.
The National Development and Reform Commission said on Tuesday that it has allocated 200 million yuan (about $27.9 million) to assist relief efforts in Beijing.
