June 20 is World Refugee Day. By the end of 2023, about 117 million people worldwide had been displaced from their homes by conflict, persecution or other significant threats to their well-being. The international community should extend a helping hand, creating a warm humanitarian haven to protect them from sudden outbreaks of conflict, shield them from unknown storms ahead, and light up the hope of rebuilding their homes.
