Guangzhou (CNS) - China Southern Airlines plans to add 74 passenger flights across the Taiwan Strait during Spring Festival in 2012.

The extra flights refer to five lines. Two flights per day will take off from Shenzhen to Taipei between January 9 to 21, and two flights per day will serve the Taipei-Pudong line between January 16 to 21. Five flights will be scheduled weekly for the lines of Zhengzhou-Taipei and Wuhan-Taipei between January 10 to 31, and four flights weekly for the Dalian-Taipei line. These temporary flight increases are expected to relieve the traffic pressure across the Strait during the holiday.

China Southern Airlines has also opened up a a number of new flights to Taichung, including Harbin-Taichung, Shenyang-Taichung, Nanning-Taichung and Changchun-Taichung. And the Haikou-Taipei line goes into operation on December 21.
