Dubai (CNS) –China will need 2020 economical and comfortable turboprop aircraft over the next two decades as a result of inflated price of fuel oil, predicted the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AICC).

Regional aircraft reserves are expected to keep pace with the fast-growing needs of air transportation, said Gang Shaohua, deputy general manager of Avic Xi'an Aircraft Industry (Group) Company, adding that the need for regionally deployed aircraft is also expanding in international and private airlines, and for activities like aerial mapping, rainmaking and marine monitoring.

The made-in-China turboprop plane Modern Ark 600 (MA600) is suited for use as a regional aircraft. Built to handle flight legs less than 800 kilometers, it's operating cost is low and it boasts high safety and reliability ratings, said Gang.

To date, 196 Modern Ark (MA600 and MA60) regional crafts have been sold, including 16 MA600 to buyers abroad.
