Chinese police bust major online drug trafficking

Beijing (CNS) –The Chinese police arrested 12,125 suspects who are involved in drug use and drug trafficking through the Internet, in their latest battle against drug trafficking.

Police confiscated 308.3 kilograms of drugs, busted 496 drug-making and drug trafficking cases and broke down 144 drug-dealing gangs and 22 drug-making factories.

A total of 31 provinces and municipalities were involved in this case. It is the first time that online webcams were used to commit drug-related crimes. The suspects created online chatting rooms to do drugs in front of webcams. Some used the Internet to trade drugs.

Most of the suspects are young people. Those who are less than 18 years old can be taken home by their parents after the police's education, according to law.
