Beijing (CNS) -- A women's school seems to have seized the hearts of a lot of modern women in Beijing, with their marketing emphasis on how to marry rich. With its claims to provide family and relationship courses for girls that want to marry a rich guy, the school has received over about 2,800 trainees since its opening last May.

According to its marketing office head Ding Zhenyu, the 30 some courses they offer are targeted at three groups: (1) single women who lack experience in defending themselves from deception; (2) married women who need guidance in coping with family relationships; (3) all women who intend to improve their skills in make-up, dressing up, and cooking.

"Self-positioning," "Reading his mind," "Taking initiatives," and "Harmonizing family ties" are the four most popular course, according to their website.

Shao Tong, CEO and founder of the school, used to be the chief marriage consultant of a famous dating site.

She told the media that the reason behind establishing this school is to help girls avoid sentimental frustrations, by becoming reasonable in picking the right person and managing a family.

The slogan "to marry rich" is for promotion purposes, which worked out much better than the original one "to become a better version of yourself."

Shao clarified that the course content did not change with their slogan and insisted on the education and stimulation of minds and potentials. Moreover, most trainees were well qualified to marry an economically-capable man, she said.

Most of the trainees are around 23 – 26 years old. 80% of them are single, or divorced. They are all economically self-sustainable, from public servants, to private business owners, to employees with overseas experience, even to foreigners.

The school claims another characteristic of the trainees – the percentage of attractive ladies among all. About one-third are outstanding and three-fifths are good-looking. Unfortunately, the trainees are not willing to accept interviews due to privacy concerns.

The main difference between the school and a dating website is that no dates will be arranged, said Ding. But personally, he has matched some six couples among the trainees and his friends.

Records of the Industrial and Commercial Bureau showed no registration for this self-claimed training organization. Under its registered address reads the name of a consulting company.

Legal experts indicated that the school is essentially a consulting firm. Without authorizations, the school is going against regulations by providing training services.
