Background: Sang Lan was one of the excellent gymnastics athletes of her time. Thirteen years ago, she fell from the vault and was paralyzed from the chest down. Recently, she revealed the secret that caused her fall on her microblog and blamed it on the authorities. Overnight, this matter has evolved into a transnational lawsuit as more parties are concerned.

On July 5, Sang Lan held a press conference in New York, stating that her visit to the US will be to uphold her rights and she reaffirmed that she will never withdraw the lawsuit. It's up to her team of lawyers and she completely trusts them.

Hai Ming, Sang Lan's lawyer, also claims that sufficient evidence is in hand for both civil and criminal charges.

For now, the name of the former vice chairman of Time Warner, Ted Turner, has been removed from the defendants list. Closed negotiations are under way with insurance companies and USA Gymnastics, according to Hai Ming.

As predicted, the suit against Chinese Americans Liu Guosheng and Xie Xiaohong will go to court in August.

Thus far, this transnational lawsuit involves USA Gymnastics, three American insurance companies, and several Chinese-American defendants, such as Liu Guosheng, Xie Xiaohong, and Mo Hu.

Sang Lan has arranged a meeting with the prosecutor later on Xue Weisen's sexual harassment, who is the son of Xie Xiaohong.

Lu Ping, who did qigong therapy on Sang Lan thirteen years ago, also attended the conference. He has already provided testimony before and will give further details this time, said Lu.

He brought a five to six kilogram bag full of testifying materials with him that day. He claimed he had preserved these materials for thirteen years, as Sang Lan was still a little girl and wasn't aware her own rights.

As to the potential long timeframe of this case, Sang Lan is fully prepared. "Give me justice and truth. That is all that I want. As to compensation, it is up to the courts to decide," said Sang Lan.
