German engineering group Siemens has set up an office in Beijing to boost engagement in Belt and Road Initiative.

The office will become a global hub to support that initiative by enhancing collaboration with Chinese companies and discovering opportunities along the Belt and Road region.

The group has partnered with over 100 Chinese companies in many places.

It will focus on infrastructure projects covering smart manufacturing, power generation, distribution and smart city where the group has decades of experiences, said Cedrik Neike, managing board member of Siemens.

It will hope to help Chinese companies adapted to Belt and Road regions in fields like power, oil and gas, chemicals, mining and building materials.

The company will hold a Belt and Road International Summit in June in China, convening stakeholders and relevant companies.
