China's largest film studio was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on Thursday, with its market value reaching over ten billion yuan (1.5 billion USD), reports thepaper.cn.
The Hengdian World Studios, said to be the largest film studio in the world, issued 53 million shares at 15.45 yuan on October 12, 2017. The latest public offering reportedly presents 11.7% of the company's capital stock.
Dubbed "Chinawood," the studio consists of 13 shooting stages, with a total area of up to over 30 square kilometers in Hengdian Town, Zhejiang Province.
The company is a subsidiary of China's well-known Hengdian Group. The studio's listing brings the number of Hengdian conglomerate subsidiaries on China's A-Share market to five.
