Sales of automation products provider Rockwell Automation have “surged by double-digit annual growth” in China since October as the company tapped the automation trend in the country’s food and beverage, automobile and health care sectors, it said yesterday.
Its sales in China got a boost from China’s smart manufacturing policies, said Li Zhongjie, Rockwell’s commercial marketing manager.
China’s food and beverage sales grew 10.5 percent in 2016 and consumers spent 1,535 yuan ($223) per capita in the first quarter, up 4.6 percent from a year ago, the National Bureau of Statistics said.
Spending on health care rose 15.8 percent in the first quarter from the same quarter a year earlier, the fastest among consumer-related sectors, according to the bureau.
