Huawei Technologies will invest $500 million annually and build five cloud research centers to take a leading role in the coming "Cloud 2.0" digital society embracing devices, network and cloud services, the firm said at a conference yesterday in Shanghai.
Huawei aims to explore cloud era trends and how different industries can achieve digital transformation by developing cloud technology and contributing to the cloud ecosystem, said Ken Hu, Huawei's rotating chief executive officer, as he revealed the company's cloud strategy for the first time at the three-day Huawei Connect Open Conference yesterday.
"Networks will connect everything, and the cloud will be the source of intelligence behind all things," said Hu.
