11 BILLION

Trade and economic relations between the Czech Republic and China have been growing rapidly in recent years. In 2015, two-way trade topped 11 billion U.S. dollars. Bilateral cooperation in nuclear power, finance, aviation, science and technology and agriculture made progress and mutual investment also flourished.

Statistics from China's Ministry of Commerce show that at the end of 2015, China's investment in the Czech Republic surged to 1.6 billion dollars from 200 million dollars in 2013. Meanwhile, the Czech Republic's investment in China totaled 1.8 billion dollars.

The Chinese government encourages and supports competent Chinese enterprises to invest in the Czech Republic and welcomes more Czech companies to expand business in China, said Xi in a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka on Tuesday.
