Chinese Internet giant Tencent has reported a 27 percent year on year jump in second-quarter profits on the back of strong income growth in the online gaming and advertising sectors.
The company has taken in some 1.2 billion U.S. dollars in profits through the period.
Tencent's second-quarter revenues have increased 19 percent to 23.4 billion yuan.
It's revenues from its online advertising has surged 97 percent to 4.1 billion yuan through the 2nd quarter.
The sharp growth is being driven by a glut of new subscribers to the company's online video services, as well as a spike in revenues from mobile-based advertising.
Tencent says it currently has over 600 million people using WeChat.
