Suzhou, a city well-known for its silk in Jiangsu Province, yesterday launched the 1st Jiangsu Textile Product Expo, which aims to showcase the competence of local companies and seek trading partners.
The three-day expo, held in the city's Wujiang District where most local textile companies are located, seeks to integrate with Suzhou, Shanghai and other surrounding areas by attracting investments and cooperative projects, said Liang Yibo, Party secretary of Wujiang.
Shen Jinming, deputy district head, said the expo is an opportunity for the local textile industry to spread its name and upgrade technology.
The expo, which showcases six categories of fabrics, aims to exhibit diverse high-end fashion brands and some of the latest innovations in the textile industry. It also seeks talented professionals to further develop the industry.
Fabrics made in the district's Shengze Town will be featured at the expo, in which 276 companies are taking part.
