The Shanghai technology company that is suing Apple Inc for selling a counterfeit version of its mobile shopping app on its online store yesterday filed a document of expert opinion to support its case.

Shanghai Easyka Network Technology presented the file — which includes contributions from experts at Peking and Tsinghua universities, among other places — to the Shanghai No. 1 Intermediate People's Court.

Easyka, a unit of GP Dragon Group and operator of an e-commerce website, is seeking 100 million yuan (US$16.3 million) in compensation from Apple and Shanghai Woshang Information Technology Co, the firm accused of producing the fake program.

The lawsuit was filed after Easyka found an unauthorized version of its program for sale in Apple's app store.

Though the item was removed after the court accepted the suit on June 26, Easyka is seeking compensation for lost revenue on the product, which it said cost 140 million yuan to develop.

The court has yet to set a hearing date for the case, the company said.
