The 2014 John Moores Painting Prize (China) Exhibition, sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover China, officially opened to the public last week at Shanghai Himalayas Museum, as a leading showcase of the country's avant-garde artwork and the British premium carmaker's innovative aesthetics and elegance.
It is the third time for this UK-originated world-renowned contemporary painting competition to come to China to promote the cultural exchange between China and UK and cultivate Chinese young art talent. Five artists have been selected from more than 3,000 entrants in the 2014 competition in China to present their artwork at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool along with the winning pieces from Britain.
