Li Dongsheng, general manager of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC)'s Sichuan Petrochemical subsidiary, was reportedly taken away by police in an alleged corruption scandal, 21st Century Business Herald reported on Tuesday.[Special coverage]

An announcement from the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress said that Li has resigned from his post as a lawmaker before the annual sessions in March.
