A police forensic artist has helped a father in his 24-year search for his missing daughter succeed in finding his beloved child, reports the Xinhua News Agency.

Lin Yuhui, a forensic artist in Shandong Province, created two sketches of Wang Mingqing's missing daughter in 2017 after he heard of the story.

Wang's 3-year-old daughter disappeared near the family's fruit stand in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Jan. 8, 1994, while Wang and his wife were busy at dealing with customers.

To aid in their continuing search, in 2014, Wang became a driver for a ride-sharing company in Chengdu, with the hope of branching out his search.

Wang would tell his story to his passengers, handed out cards with his daughter's information, hoping to get the message out.

The story eventually went national in 2017, prompting sketch artist Lin Yuhui to take up the challenge, creating sketches of what the girl would look like today.

A girl living in the northeastern province of Jilin eventually made contact with Wang Mingqing, after noting the sketches "surprisingly" resembled her.

A DNA test on April 1, 2018, confirmed that she is Wang's daughter.

The girl is planning to reunite with her family this Tuesday.
