The "National Invitation Exhibition for Outstanding Student Works from Fine Art Colleges" will be unveiled at the China Art Museum on December 26.
Organized by the Art Education Committee of the Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Education, the Shanghai Media and Entertainment Authority and Shanghai University, it involves 48 art schools from around the country.
It is the first among a series of exhibitions on national achievements for advanced art education.
Covering 4,900 square meters, the exhibition features nearly 830 works from Chinese art students, varying from ink-wash painting to sculpture, canvas, mural, installation, print and multimedia.
According to organizers, it is the biggest showcase of national achievements for those involved in advanced art education in terms of the number of participants and the quality of the artworks.
Following this exhibition, a show of outstanding works from teachers with fine art colleges and an exhibition of historical materials will be held in 2018 and 2019.
