New historical docu-drama "Scars of Nanking," co-produced by U.S.-based A+E Networks and China's Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, will premiere on December 13 on the History Asia channel in the U.S. This marks the first time that a Nanjing Massacre-themed documentary will be broadcast in western mainstream media.[Special coverage]

"Scars of Nanking" is set to be aired on both History Asia channel in the U.S. and Jiangsu Satellite TV in China to mark the 80th anniversary of the Nanking Massacre, which falls on December 13, 2017.

The one-hour documentary tells the history of American missionaries who attempted to save Chinese civilians from war crimes committed by Japanese forces, recording the evidence and revealing the truth of the Nanking Massacre of 1937.

The collaborative project between A+E Networks and Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation has drawn media attention globally. It has been reported by many international news outlets, such as C21 Media from the UK, World Screen and Rapid TV in the U.S., Revistasenal in Spain and Content Asia, Television Asia.

"We are very honored to make such a film with China's Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation. We expound the story from a Western perspective and wish to let more audience know about the historical truth," said Edward Sabin, Executive Director of A+E Networks.
