Medical technology company BD and Project HOPE announced they will kick off a three-year training program in Shanghai for healthcare professionals in western regions to further ensure overall safety.
Starting in 2018, the program will be rolled out first in Yunnan, Sichuan and other key provinces in western China. Under the program, experts will be providing training followed by supervision and clinical practice.
Local healthcare institutions will be involved in the program, and healthcare professionals will be trained in guidelines, standards and safe infusion and injection — especially insulin injection — in the context of medication safety and hospital-acquired infection.
Medical professionals will also receive guidance during clinical practice so as to better ensure patient safety.
The goal is to improve the professional capabilities of healthcare professionals to better ensure the safety of both patients and medical professionals.
BD will also donate products for clinical instruction.
