R&B singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and singer Tinashe are among the top acts on the program for the Unity Music & Arts Festival at Shanghai Expo Park on September 2 and 3.

The festival will feature about a dozen internationally renowned singers from home and abroad.

Highlights for the two-day fest include Ne-Yo, who wrote Billboard top-ten hits such as "Irreplaceable," "Unfaithful" and "Take a Bow" for divas such as Beyonce and Rihanna.

After some time away from the public gaze, Ne-Yo returns to the spotlight with his latest song "Another Love Song."

Twenty-three-year-old American singer Tinashe rose to fame for her "The Leap," from the soundtrack of the blockbuster movie "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1."

She has won several awards, including Soul Train Music and Black Entertainment TV.

Tinashe grabbed the Best Contemporary Song award at last year's Ivor Novello Awards with the hit "All My Friends," featuring Snakehips and Chance The Rapper.

Local names at the expo include Hong Kong singer-songwriter Khalil Fong, known for his unique style of soul and R&B, blending traditional Chinese elements.

Fong is due to perform a dozen of his signature songs, as well as tracks from his latest album "Wukong."

Another star on the program is Taiwan's A-Lin. The award-winning diva is noted for her wide vocal range. A-Lin is an indigenous singer from Taiwan's Amis people, often touted as the next A-Mei, another Taiwan native singer who has sold more than 50 million albums.

Other musical styles to be expected include reggae, funk, hip-hop and ballad. Performances at the festival will be on a stage inspired by Mars.

And the expo has more to offer than music. It will also bring some of the best food and art from the world toShanghai.

Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, hailed as Father of Rubber Duck, will unveil his latest outdoor art installation at the festival.

Gourmet food will be on offer, rather than just the routine veer and kebabs normal at music fests. There will be a "Chill-out Zone" and stalls selling trendy garments, accessories, artsy products, household goods, limited albums and other music products.

Mark your calendar for pre-sale tickets. Admission for early birds is 480 yuan ($70) for one day, or 800 yuan for two days.

There's also a VIP package at 980 yuan (one day) or 1,800 yuan (two days), which includes a VIP ticket, a fisheye lens, a custom festival bracelet and two drink vouchers.

For more details or to buy tickets, call 400-610-3721 or 176-2139-9225.
