Galaxy Valley Co, the company that runs the city's Metro Wi-Fi in Shanghai yesterday denied Internet allegations it had abused its position and that its system had been hacked.

Zhou Chengdong, Galaxy's founder, said no attacks to the Wi-Fi system had been found last July 8, the date the allegations cited.

The company also denied that the Metro Wi-Fi "uploads information from users' mobile phones for the company to abuse."

Liu Lan, general manager of the company's Shanghai Management Center, said a legal case would be filed against a public WeChat account called "Shanghai Mingdaifu," which copied the original post and created an online sensation.
