Didi, China's largest online ride-hailing operator, was fined 100,000 yuan ($13,700) in January for providing hailing information for vehicles that are not licensed to operate for profit, the city's traffic enforcement team said yesterday.
The company was also fined in 2015.
The team has issued five 100,000-yuan fines to four ride-hailing platforms, including Didi, Uber, Yidao and Shenzhou, since August 2014, when the city's new regulations on unlicensed vehicles taking passengers for profit took effect. Shenzhou refused to accept the administrative penalty, but the other three platforms have paid their fines.
