After Alipay, air passengers will be able to use WeChat for payment in more than 70 shops and restaurants at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Shanghai Airport Authority said today.
From today until March 31, the first 60,000 customers using WeChat payment at airport shops can avail of discounts of about 300 yuan ($45.76).
In June last year, the airport authority had signed strategic agreement with Chinese Internet giants, Alibaba and Tencent, to further develop O2O (online to offline) sector in the city's airports to provide better experience for passengers.
