A fire broke out yesterday afternoon in a kitchen at Shanghai Changzheng Hospital.
Smoke was seen coming from the roof of the 32-story building, which is on Fengyang Road, but no one was injured, the hospital said, adding that the blaze started about 2:45pm.
Firefighters were called to the scene and left about 4pm, though they declined to discuss the matter.
A man visiting a family member in hospital said that he and his wife — and the relative who was on a gurney at the time — were locked out of the hospital as the fire broke out while they were in another building.
