Shanghai-born actor Hu Ge was appointed as Shanghai's tourism ambassador for two years today. Hu will appear in videos and illustrated books that take people on a journey across Shanghai and participate in big activities such as the opening ceremony of Shanghai Tourism Festival to promote for the local tourism industry, Shanghai Tourism Administration said. Hu, also an amateur photographer, will also capture the beauty of Shanghai with his cameras and a photo exhibition of his works will be held in future. Tourism materials and posters featuring Hu will be issued. "It is my honor to make more people get close to the city where I was born," Hu said. Hu is famous for starring in the TV series "Nirvana in Fire."
