The cast of "Mr. Six," a drama directed by Guan Hu attended a press conference today to promote the film which started its national release on Thursday last week.
Famous mainland director Feng Xiaogang plays the leading role on the film as a 50-something street punk Mr. Six who has reigned over the Beijing streets as the neighborhood kingpin for many years.
But when his own son gets in trouble, he realizes that he no longer holds any ground in the street scene.
Feng's acting in the film has recently won him the Golden Horse Award for Best Actor.
"It is a rare chance for me to star in a film with such a good script," said Feng.
The film based on director Guan's childhood memories and experiences is also a sentimental record of the passing days and old life styles in Beijing. Lives in the Beijing Hutongs (old lanes) are depicted in the film.
