A man faces a 15-day detention after he beat up a female passenger who rejected his flyers on Line 2 in Shanghai, Metro police said Thursday.
The 28-year-old deaf-mute, surnamed Xu, was distributing flyers in a train of Line 2 heading from People's Square to Nanjing Road E. on October 20, police said.
A brawl ensued after a woman rejected Xu's attempt to stuff the flyer onto her bosom, the woman, who was not identified, said on her Weibo account.
"A man tried to put a flyer onto my chest. I threw it away and shouted 'how dare you touch my bosom?' He began to hit me from my back," the woman wrote on Weibo.
"As I gave him a kick, he fought back again, clutching my throat and grabbing my bosom. He even tried to stop me when I was dialing 110 for help," the Weibo post read.
Xu fled before police arrived.
After investigating the surveillance video, police caught Xu six days later at Line 2's Dongchang Road Station.
Xu confessed to all the accusations. He faces a 15-day administrative detention.
