A group of 155 Chinese jailed for illegal logging in Myanmar has arrived at the China-Myanmar border following a massive amnesty announced by the Myanmar government on Thursday.
Media reports revealed that the hand-over process has already finished and the group will be sent back home from the border town in Yunnan.
The group is among 7-thousand prisoners released by the Myanmar government under the amnesty.
The Chinese nationals were detained earlier this year and handed lengthy prison terms just over a week ago.
Many were given 20-year prison sentences under a decades-old law in Myanmar connected to the destruction of public property.
The stiff sentences for the loggers prompted official complaints from the Chinese government.
