ALL flights will be restricted over Beijing for three hours on September 3 when the Capital International Airport is to be temporarily closed, according to a notice issued to airlines today. [Special coverage]

The airport will ban the operations of all flights between 9:30am and 12:30pm, the Carnoc.com, or Civil Aviation Resource Net of China quoted the Notice to Airmen from air traffic controllers today in a report.

China will launch a military parade on September 3 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of the World War II.

The controller also issued a map with a restricted air zone over Beijing to ban all aircraft during the period.

The airlines can change the routes of their flights to detour the restricted area. All the detouring plans must be submitted to the air traffic controller by 4pm of August 15 to get approved.

The North China Civil Aviation Administration has announced flights landing Beijing will be delayed by 20 to 40 minutes between June and September 3 because of temporary air traffic restrictions for the parade and its trainings.

The flying height over Beijing will be also controlled and flights to and from Beijing will be affected by an hour every day.

The administration set up eight waiting zones at airports around Beijing to let aircraft land and wait during air restriction hours. It will issue daily notice to airlines on the restriction information for the next day.
