Two special trains to cater to the growing number of tourists in summer will be launched from Beijing to northwest and northeast of China from next month, the Beijing Times reports.
The trains will head to summer resorts, including northeast China's forests and the grasslands in the northwest from July 17 to August 8, that coincides with China's summer train travel rush period.
The trains will have four-person-cabins, and aims to provide a more comfortable and private space for family travel.
A railway employee says that all the special summer trains will be overnight trains that arrive at the destination the next morning. The railway stations will also offer convenient transit facilities to tour buses that take visitors to local scenic spots.
An official with the Beijing Railway Bureau says the special summer train will be a more eco-friendly family travel option.
