Wang Sheng, whose parents in their 60s were on the ship, could not hold back tears and kept blaming himself for paying for the trip for them.[Special coverage]

"I still have a lot to tell them and I have not fulfilled my duty as a son. Don't leave me," he cried out.

He talked with his parents last night when his parents said they were very well, asking him to take good care of himself.

It was the first time for his mother to take cruise trip.

Wang's aunt who accompanied Wang said Wang's parents were always frugal, and they started the trip after paying the loans of an apartment bought for Wang.

"How I regret that I was not on the ship and let them go to the ship, and they are so young to enjoy life after retirement," Wang said.

"It was all my fault," he kept saying in tears.

The room at the building where the Shanghai Xiehe Travel Agency is located is filled with sorrow, anxiety and anger.

Cai Bin, whose 67-year-old mother was on the ship, said authorities did not appear in four hours since media reported on the tragedy.

"We are very anxious and we still have slim hope in our heart, we need authorities' response," Cai said in tears.

Cai Beiqin, whose father and mother-in-law were on the ship, cried silently and sat at an corner.

"They helped take care of my daughter for most of the time, and did not enjoy their life," she said.

"I don't dare to tell my daughter, who will soon attend the high school entrance examination," she said.

"There is no hope for them to survive," she said.

"But we want the travel agency and authorities to talk with us and tell us the latest situation," she said.

Around 12am, family members were taken by a bus to the Zhabei District government to register.
