Railway authorities in China and Russia have completed the renewal of border steel rails through Suifenhe City, northeast China's Heilongjiang province.

The steel rails were replaced in the two countries at the same time which guaranteed the smooth operation of the trains.

Suifenhe City is located on the border between China and Russia. The railway station there is an important hub linking major stations such as Harbin and Vladivostok. Over 10 million tons of cargo is transferred through Suifenhe City to Russia each year and also further afield to countries including North Korea, South Korea and Japan.

The renewal work is the first cooperation between the two countries in 2015. The two sides have promised to work closely over improving the work of maintaining the railways in the future.
