Authorities in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have determined that a mild landslide was behind the death of 7 tourists in the city of Guilin on Thursday morning.

The tourists were struck by a huge falling boulder at the Diecai Mountain scenic area.

Four were killed on the scene and three later died in hospital.

A total of 25 people were injured, including 8 tourists from Taiwan.

The local government has already released a report on the incident after an investigation by local geologists.

The landslide occurred near the north entrance to the famous Mulong Grotto, which stands at a height of 30 meters above ground.

Visitors have been warned about the risk of falling boulders, in the landslide-prone mountainous region.
